Mindfulness and Nature Therapy Workshop

July 12th, 9am-11am

This two-hour continuing education workshop is designed for licensed clinicians, and offers a clear distinction between mindfulness and nature therapy as two related but distinct clinical skills. Both modalities begin with sensory contact, yet they produce different outcomes. Mindfulness trains attention; nature therapy opens relational contact with the more-than-human world.

The workshop briefly locates mindfulness as familiar clinical ground, then moves participants into nature therapy as a distinct skill and presents the conceptual case for nature-informed practice as a foundation for mental health rather than an adjunct technique. Through brief lecture, two short experiential practices, and structured discussion, clinicians will leave able to distinguish the two skills and identify when each is appropriate to clinical aims.

Professional Training

Our combine sharing information and inspiration. The Professional Continuing Education Program was established in 2018 with our flagship workshops around labyrinth work and psychotherapeutic work. We have since expanded this to bring specialists in our field and community together in experiential and relevant training events.

And our public education events offer opportunities for learning, personal and interpersonal healing, and development. They are an extension and complimentary to the individual, couples, and family therapy that we offer. And it is also a way for the general public to get to know us before they utilize our psychotherapy services or refer us to their friends, family, or community.

Every event or CE event you register and pay for directs the proceeds to come back into The Place Within to help us offer affordable psychotherapy to our clients. Programs offered free of charge allow more individuals to participate. Those events will have the opportunity for those who are grateful for the work we do to reciprocate that gratitude through financial donations. By choosing our workshops and events, you directly support us in the work we do.

Thank you for considering joining us in growing together!
